The Idea behind this app originated from the study conducted among the taxi drivers by their volunteers. It came to the conclusion that this section of society is exploited, economically backward, and not organized at all in order to win over their rights in society. There are drivers with tremendous capacities and talents, who can do a lot of good for society. But the only thing that remains underlined about them is that there is no one to guide them, to motivate them, to improve themselves, to appreciate them for the good deeds done by them. There is no one to put a new strength or power into them for their self growth, and to make them an integrated group of our society.
One of the first application which connects passengers with local Taxis and Auto Rickshaws. It offers a variety of functions, such as viewing list of Drivers, Locations, Operational status of Taxi drivers and Blood donation. You may use this app to find nearby drivers for a travel, Booking a Taxi for next day trip and you can mark driver as favorite for future rides.
It is very easy to contact an auto driver using Live Taxi app. Once the app is downloaded, you only have to select your place then the app will show the contact numbers of Taxi drivers who are available. By simply clicking on the number you will be connected to the Taxi driver.
And best part is its an offline application so that no internet or GPS is required. Live Taxi acts as a handy phonebook which can be used to connect Taxi, Auto Drivers and Blood donors around.
It aims at common people depends on local taxis and autos for daily transportation. Another important objective is Blood Donation. User can search for nearby blood donors and can contact them by sending message or by giving a call. It helps needy patients search for blood donors in their city or area.
So far around 400 drivers already registered with Live Taxi app and still counting. It links gap between local taxi to common people. The response and support received from Drivers and people around was even greater than expected. Many well wishers from different localities and streams came forward to be part of this noble venture.
Although the app is still under development they are planning to publish a beta version with minimum features within next few days. So that each user can check this app and can suggest valuable feedbacks and responses for stable version.

രക്തം എത്തിച്ചുകൊടുക്കുന്നത് ചിലപ്പോള് ഒരു ഫോണ്വിളികൊണ്ടുതന്നെ കഴിയും. കുന്നും മലയും കയറി ഇറങ്ങി പോകേണ്ട സ്ഥിതിയും വന്നുചേരാറുണ്ട്. ഒരുവിധം ആളെയും സംഘടിപ്പിച്ച് ആസ്പത്രിയില് എത്തിച്ചാല് ചിലപ്പോള് വെറും വാക്കില് ഒരു 'താങ്ക്സ്' കിട്ടും. മറ്റുചിലപ്പോള് വൈകിപ്പോയതിലെ പരിഭവങ്ങള്. ഓട്ടോ കാശ് എത്രയെന്നു പോലും അന്വേഷിക്കാതെ 'ഐ.സി.യു.' വാര്ഡിലേക്ക് ഓടിക്കയറുമ്പോള് സ്നേഹപ്രകടനത്തിനായി രക്തത്തിനു വിലപറയുന്നവര്... രക്തബാങ്കിനു മുമ്പില് നാനാവിധത്തിലുള്ള പെരുമാറ്റങ്ങള് കാണുന്ന ഷാജിയെ ഇതൊന്നും തളര്ത്താറില്ല.

Let's Hail a Rickshaw.
DILIP SINGH looks important. A rickshaw puller by
profession, he is also the president of the south zone Ecocab’s
Dial-a-rickshaw service in Fazilka, a town in Punjab. Wearing a crisp
shirt and smart shoes, he flashes his android cellphone and says, “Gone
are the days when rickshaw pullers were known for dirty, unkempt looks.”
Just like taxis in other cities, rickshaws in Fazilka arrive at the
doorstep when called on their service number. One can locate the nearest Ecocab call centre by using Google Maps or GPS. Ecocab also has a website where one can check details of the registered rickshaw pullers.
Every day about 500 rickshaw pullers ferry 10,000 passengers. Each zone in the town has a dedicated phone number and at least 30 rickshaw pullers are available round-the-clock. Every puller owns a cellphone. Around 65 per cent of the pullers own their rickshaws. Ecocab provides each puller an insurance policy worth Rs 50,000. A set of woollens every winter and medical checkup and medicines are also offered at discounted prices. They also get legal aid and support for children’s schooling.

The service has helped the prime business area of Ghanta Ghar become a car-free zone. Following the services’ success, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has issued suo moto direction to both Punjab and Haryana to find ways to replicate Ecocab service in the rest of the state.

Rickshaw services to go hi-tech
The scheme aims at providing a safer and efficient last mile
connectivity to passengers. Moreover, it also benefits the auto drivers
with provision of facilities like uniform, insurance and accident
policies, all free of cost.
It may be noted that though the registration process may have begun for the auto drivers, the service would be opened to the public over the next month.
So, consider this. Once the plan rolls out, an auto rickshaw arriving at your doorstep would just be a phone call or an SMS away. The journey would be made more comfortable with facilities like newspapers and water bottles on the way. What's more, one would pay just by the meter and avoid all chances of over-charging.
Under this scientific management of auto
rickshaws', the movement of each auto will be monitored by a control
room and there will be very little scope of overcharging by drivers. The
driver will also be given a cell phone. A passenger's call to the
control room, will be directed to the auto closest to that address. This
practice will reduce unnecessary plying of autos on roads, thus saving
fuel and reducing traffic congestion.
"Effective implementation of this scheme will bring down the pressure on private transport in the city and make available efficient para-transit public transport," said Ramchandran.
Niteen Kareer, divisional commissioner and president of RTA, said, "The scheme is being implemented in association with Delhi-based private firm Indevelop. Pune is the first city where it will be implemented. In the process, all illegal permits and flaws will be removed, as every auto will have separate a registration under the GPS and GIS systems."
"All auto drivers enrolling for the scheme will get a uniform, insurance policy for the entire family and also an accident policy. There will also be regular health check-ups for the drivers. However, the scheme is being run on a voluntary basis," he said.
"Over 2,000 auto drivers have already registered for the scheme, in the initial stage. A dedicated control room for the process will be opened soon," said member RTA Baba Shinde.
Commissioner of police Satyapal Singh said that more than 30 per cent of the auto rickshaws in the city are illegal. Moreover, only 30 per cent of the drivers charge fares according to the metre. This scheme will help bring down such malpractices, as well as related criminal activities.

get a boost, if the Delhi government’s plans are implemented.
In a reprieve of sorts for rickshawpullers, who face restriction
of movement in various localities of the city, the government is
thinking of regularising them by issuing biometric badges after training
them in traffic rules. Meera Bhatia, standing counsel for the
government, put the proposal containing minutes of a meeting between the
Lieutenant-Governor and the Commissioners of Delhi Police and the MCD
before the High Court recently.
“Every rickshawpuller is to be issued a biometric badge. The traffic police will be provided with hand-held biometric badge readers to check the authenticity of the rickshaw puller,” said the proposal, placed before a Special Bench comprising Chief Justice Ajit Prakash Shah and Justices S Muralidhar and Ravinder Bhatt.
The traffic police can regularly check the number and authorisation of rickshawpullers if the biometric badges are introduced.

Honesty pays. That’s what 10 auto drivers realized on Thursday while
they were honored at a function organized at Town Hall. The function
was organized jointly by TVS Motors and Namma Motors,
Dealer Principal, to felicitate honest auto drivers of Bangalore.

Transport Minster R Ashoka lauded the drivers for safely returning
belongings of commuters such as cash worth Rs 2 to 8 lakhs, Jewellery
ornaments, laptops and other valuable goods, that were left behind in
their vehicles. He also took the opportunity to advice them not to
refuse to take the commuters to their destination.
Commuters are god, who make your lively hood, help the commuters when thy are in need of your assistance.
The Minister also observed that many auto drivers had rescued people injured in accidents, while the four wheelers showed no concern as they feared complications.

Motors said this event is organized to send a message to the other
drivers to come forward and help the public when they are in need of
such assistance.
Auto people are the only people who are left backward, there is no
proper guidance, as majority of them come from different background
with no proper training and facilities, he said and thanked the
government for setting up a training centre at Yelahanka. He also
presented a relief fund to family of auto driver Srinivas who died
recently.
Auto drivers’ day out
Life
of an auto driver is very hectic and there is hardly anytime left to
take a break amidst their busy schedule. For some auto drivers, life
starts as early 5 am and goes up to mid-night. Not to mention the
plight of those who operate throughout night to make ends meet.
In
order to give these auto drivers a break from their mundane routine,
Hello FM 106.4, in association with TVS Tyres organized an evening of
fun and frolic, not just for the auto drivers but also for the entire
family in Tirunelveli on June 12, 2011.
It
all started with a road show in and around Tirunelveli resulting in an
overwhelming 900 registrations. On the day of the event, They decorated
MDT school, the venue of the activity, and five counters were put up for
free check-up of participants’ autos. A 15 member strong medical team
was also pressed into service for free eye and medical check-up of auto
drivers.
For more
than 800 auto drivers and their family, the day ended with fun-filled
evening wherein temporary tattoo for kids, Mehandi application, slogan
contest, fun-filled games, dance performance by local dance troupe,
musical orchestra entertained one and all.

ന്മകളുടെ വഴിയേ കൃഷ്ണദാസിന്റെ ഓട്ടോ...
നന്മകളുടെ വഴികളിലൂടെയാണ് ഈ ഓട്ടോയുടെ സഞ്ചാരം. മട്ടാഞ്ചേരി ടി.ഡി. ഹൈസ്കൂളിനുസമീപം വാടകവീട്ടില് താമസിക്കുന്ന കൃഷ്ണദാസിന്റെ ഓട്ടോയാണത്. പേര് 'സത്യമേവ ജയതേ'.ഒരിക്കല് ഒരു യാത്രക്കാരന് കൃഷ്ണദാസിന്റെ ഓട്ടോയില് മറന്നുവച്ചത് 17,500 രൂപയും രേഖകളുമടങ്ങിയ ബാഗ്. ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കുവാന് ഉച്ചയ്ക്ക് വീട്ടിലെത്തിയപ്പോഴാണ് കൃഷ്ണദാസ് ഓട്ടോയില് ബാഗ് കണ്ടത്. ഉടനെ ബാഗ് മട്ടാഞ്ചേരി പോലീസ് സ്റ്റേഷനില് എത്തിച്ചു. പോലീസ് അത് ഉടമസ്ഥര്ക്ക് തിരിച്ചു നല്കി. അതൊരു തുടക്കമായിരുന്നു. മറ്റൊരു ദിവസം മൂന്നുപവന്റെ സ്വര്ണ്ണാഭരണവും, പണവുമടങ്ങിയ ഒരു ബാഗാണ് ഓട്ടോയില് നിന്നും കിട്ടിയത്. പോലീസ് വഴി അതും ഉടമസ്ഥന് തിരിച്ചുനല്കി.
14 തവണ ഇങ്ങനെ ഓട്ടോയില് മറന്നുവച്ച വിലപിടിപ്പുള്ള വസ്തുക്കള് പോലീസ് മുഖാന്തിരവും നേരിട്ടും തിരിച്ചു നല്കിയ കൃഷ്ണദാസിനെ ഒടുവില് പോലീസ് തന്നെ ആദരിച്ചു.ജനമൈത്രി പോലീസിന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തില് കഴിഞ്ഞ നവംബറില് ഫോര്ട്ടുകൊച്ചി പോലീസാണ് കൃഷ്ണദാസിനെ ആദരിച്ചത്.
കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം ഒരു യാത്രക്കാരന്റെ വില പിടിപ്പുള്ള മൊബൈല് ഫോണ് ഓട്ടോയാത്രയ്ക്കിടെ നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടു. ഓട്ടോ ഏതെന്ന് യാത്രക്കാരനും നിശ്ചയമില്ല. വിവരം കൃഷ്ണദാസ് അറിഞ്ഞു. യാത്രക്കാരനെ വണ്ടിയില് കയറ്റി കൃഷ്ണദാസ് മട്ടാഞ്ചേരിയും ഫോര്ട്ടുകൊച്ചിയും ചുറ്റി. യാത്രക്കാരന് പറഞ്ഞുകൊടുത്ത അടയാളങ്ങള് പ്രകാരം ഒടുവില് കൃഷ്ണദാസ് ആ ഓട്ടോറിക്ഷ കണ്ടെത്തി. നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട ഫോണ് തിരികെ കിട്ടി. ഇങ്ങനെ യാത്രക്കാരന്റെ സഹായിയും സുഹൃത്തുമായി മാറുകയാണ് കൃഷ്ണദാസ്. അപകടസ്ഥലത്ത് പരിക്കേറ്റ് കിടക്കുന്നവരെ ആസ്പത്രിയില് എത്തിക്കുന്നതിനും അദ്ദേഹം മുന്നിലുണ്ടാകും.
ഏതെങ്കിലും സ്റ്റാന്ഡില് ഓട്ടത്തിനായി കാത്തുകിടക്കുന്ന ശീലം കൃഷ്ണദാസിനില്ല. സ്ഥിരം യാത്രക്കാര് ഫോണില് വിളിക്കുകയാണ് ചെയ്യുക. ഏതു പാതിരാത്രിയും കൃഷ്ണദാസ് എത്തും. യാത്രക്കാര് പ്രായമായവരാണെങ്കില് അവരെ സഹായിക്കാനും കൃഷ്ണദാസുണ്ടാകും.

സേവന സന്നദ്ധതയും സത്യസന്ധതയുമാണ് കൃഷ്ണദാസിന്റെ കൈമുതല്. രാത്രി റെയില്വേ സ്റ്റേഷനില് വണ്ടി ഇറങ്ങുന്ന കസ്റ്റമര്ക്ക് വിഷമിക്കേണ്ട കാര്യമില്ല. വിളിപ്പുറത്ത് കൃഷ്ണദാസ് ഉണ്ടെന്ന ധൈര്യമാണവര്ക്ക്. 60 ഓളം സ്ഥിരം കസ്റ്റമേഴ്സ് തനിക്കുണ്ടെന്ന് കൃഷ്ണദാസ് പറയുന്നു.12 വര്ഷമായി ഇദ്ദേഹം ഓട്ടോ ഓടിക്കുന്നു. അതും ഒരേ വണ്ടിയില്. വാടകവീട്ടില് താമസിക്കുന്ന കൃഷ്ണദാസിന് മൂന്ന് മക്കളുണ്ട്. നല്ല പ്രവൃത്തി ചെയ്യുന്നതിനാല് ബുദ്ധിമുട്ട് വരുമ്പോള് തന്നെ എല്ലാവരും സഹായിക്കുന്നതായും കൃഷ്ണദാസ് പറയുന്നു.
കല്യാണപ്പെണ്ണിന്റെ സ്വര്ണം തിരികെ നല്കി ഓട്ടോ ഡ്രൈവര് മാതൃകയായി
കൊല്ലം:കല്യാണത്തിന് മണിക്കൂറുകള് അവശേഷിക്കേ കല്യാണപ്പെണ്ണിന്റെ സ്വര്ണം ഓട്ടോയില് മറന്നു. ഓട്ടോയില് മറന്ന 20 പവന് സ്വര്ണം തിരികെ നല്കി ഓട്ടോ ഡ്രൈവര് മാതൃകയായി. അഞ്ചുകല്ലുംമൂട് സ്റ്റാന്ഡിലെ 'ശിവശക്തി' ഓട്ടോയുടെ ഡ്രൈവര് സുരേഷ്കുമാറാണ് കല്യാണ ഓട്ടം പോയത്. പുള്ളിക്കടയില് നിന്ന് നവവധു റെസീനയെയും ഉമ്മ നെസീമയെയും ബന്ധുവിനെയും കയറ്റി എ.വൈ.കെ. ഓഡിറ്റോറിയത്തിലേക്ക് പോയി. ഓഡിറ്റോറിയത്തില് ഇറങ്ങിയ വിവാഹസംഘം സാധനങ്ങള് പലതും എടുത്തെങ്കിലും കല്യാണപ്പെണ്ണിന്റെ സ്വര്ണം മാത്രം മറന്നു.
ഓഡിറ്റോറിയത്തില് എത്തിയപ്പോഴാണ് സ്വര്ണം നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടതറിഞ്ഞത്. ഉടന് ഈസ്റ്റ് പോലീസ് സ്റ്റേഷനില് വിവരം അറിയിച്ചു. തുടര്ന്ന് പോലീസുകാര് സ്വര്ണം വച്ചുമറന്ന ഓട്ടോ തിരക്കിയിറങ്ങി. ഇതിനിടെ ഓട്ടോയില് സ്വര്ണം അടങ്ങിയ പൊതി ഇരിക്കുന്നത് ഡ്രൈവര് സുരേഷിന്റെ ശ്രദ്ധയില്പ്പെട്ടു. ഒട്ടും താമസിയാതെ ഓഡിറ്റോറിയത്തിലേക്ക് കുതിച്ചു.
സ്വര്ണത്തിന്റെ പൊതി കൈമാറുമ്പോള് ഉത്കണ്ഠയുടെ നിമിഷങ്ങളെണ്ണിനിന്ന കല്യാണപ്പെണ്ണിന്റെയും കുടുംബത്തിന്റെയും കണ്ണു നിറഞ്ഞു. ആഭരണങ്ങളിഞ്ഞ പെണ്കുട്ടി വിവാഹപ്പന്തലിലേക്കു പോകുമ്പോള് സുരേഷ് ഈസ്റ്റ് പോലീസ് സ്റ്റേഷനിലേക്ക് പോയി. സ്റ്റേഷനിലെത്തി സുരേഷ് സംഭവങ്ങള് വിവരിച്ചു. സുരേഷിനെ പോലീസുകാര് അഭിനന്ദിച്ചു.

ഫറോക്ക് റെയില്വേ സ്റ്റേഷനില് ഓട്ടോ ഡ്രൈവര്മാരുടെ പച്ചക്കറിത്തോട്ടം
ഫറോക്ക്: ഫറോക്ക് റെയില്വേ സ്റ്റേഷന് പരിസരത്ത് ഓട്ടോ ഡ്രൈവര്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടായ്മയില് പച്ചപിടിച്ച കൃഷിത്തോട്ടം നാട്ടുകാരുടെയും യാത്രക്കാരുടെയും ശ്രദ്ധാകേന്ദ്രമാകുന്നു. റെയില്വേ സ്റ്റേഷനിലെ ഓട്ടോറിക്ഷാ സ്റ്റാന്ഡിലെ ഡ്രൈവര്മാര് രണ്ടുമാസം മുമ്പാണ് കൃഷി തുടങ്ങിയത്. കൂട്ടായ പരിശ്രമത്തിലൂടെ റെയില്വേ സ്റ്റേഷനിലെ കാടുപിടിച്ച പ്രദേശം പച്ചപ്പാര്ന്ന കൃഷിത്തോട്ടമാക്കി മാറ്റിയിരിക്കുകയാണ് അവര്.യാത്രക്കാരെ കാത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ഇടവേളകളിലാണ് വെണ്ടയും കൈപ്പയും ചീരയും പരിചരിക്കുന്നതിന് ഇവര് സമയം കണ്ടെത്തുന്നത്. കരുവന്തിരുത്തി വാകേരി സുബ്രഹ്മണ്യനാണ് കൂട്ടായ്മയുടെ നേതാവ്. ജൈവവളം മാത്രം ഉപയോഗിച്ചാണ് ഇവരുടെ കൃഷി.
സ്റ്റേഷന് പരിസരത്തെ കാട് വെട്ടിത്തെളിക്കുമ്പോഴാണ് സ്ഥലത്ത് പച്ചക്കറികൃഷി തുടങ്ങാമെന്ന ആശയമുദിച്ചത്. അധികൃതരില്നിന്ന് പ്രോത്സാഹനവും അനുമതിയും ലഭിച്ചതോടെ ഇവര് ഒഴിവുസമയങ്ങള് പൂര്ണ്ണമായും കൃഷിക്കുവേണ്ടി മാറ്റിവെക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.
ഇതിനകം 18 കിലോ ചീര, ആറുകിലോ വെണ്ട, നാലുകിലോ പയര് എന്നിവ വിളവെടുത്തു. വിളവ് പങ്കിട്ടെടുക്കുകയാണ് പതിവ്. പച്ചക്കറി വിളവെടുപ്പ് കഴിഞ്ഞാല് ഇവിടെ പൂന്തോട്ടം നിര്മ്മിക്കാനാണ് ഇവരുടെ പരിപാടി.
ഹൃദയതാളം സംരക്ഷിക്കാന് ഓട്ടോ ഡ്രൈവര്മാരും

'ഞങ്ങള് ഇനി ആര്ക്കുവേണമെങ്കിലും രക്തം നല്കാന് തയ്യാര്'.

തങ്ങളുടെ വാഹനത്തില് യാത്രക്കാര് മറന്നുവെച്ച വിലപ്പെട്ട സ്വത്തുക്കള് തിരിച്ചേല്പിച്ച് സത്യസന്ധത കാട്ടിയ കൂടത്തുംപൊയില് ശശിയേക്കല് താഴെ എന്.അബ്ദുള് റഹൂഫ്, പാലത്ത് മേലെ പുനത്തില് ഹമീല മന്സിലില് മുഹമ്മദ് മുസ്താഖ്, മൊകവൂര് കൊരച്ചനി പറമ്പില് എച്ച്.ജഗദീഷ് റാവു, കക്കോടി ചെറോട്ട് ഹൗസില് സി.സദാനന്ദന് എന്നിവരെയും 18 വര്ഷക്കാലം ട്രാഫിക് നിയമങ്ങള് കൃത്യമായി പാലിച്ച് വാഹനമോടിച്ച നെല്ലിക്കോട് ഉള്ളാട്ടില് മേത്തല്താഴം റെയ്നോണ്സ് ജെയ്സണിനെയുമാണ് അവാര്ഡ് നല്കി ആദരിച്ചത്.
